CCTFSC’s 20th Summer Camp

(PIO CEBU CITY) -

"The right attitude is having a gratitude for the past, excitement in the present in order to be confident in the future, "Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama shared to the 678 children from 16 different agencies who joined in the annual Cebu City Task Force on Street Children (CCTFSC) 20th Summer Camp from April 16-21, 2012 held at Matutinao, Badian, Cebu.

This is the 18th time that the venue was held at Matutinao Beach Resort and the participants were housed at the Matutinao Elementary School this is because the ambiance and the atmosphere of the place are suitable for the six-day outdoor activities.

The activities include parades, raising of banners, talent and skills presentations, prayer meditation, morning exercises, story-telling, gallery walk, craft and recycle, amazing race, and values formation seminar among others.

The 16 agencies who actively participated were Philippine Teen challenge, Little bamboo Foundation, Inc., Asilo dela Milagrosa, Dangpanan Home of the Street Children, Terre San's Frontierre Children's Center, Share a Child Movement, SOS Children's Village Cebu, SunShine Corner Ministry of Encouragement, Inc., Children of Cebu Foundation, Inc., Salvation Pastoral Care for Children, Community Scouts Youth and Guidance Center, Kadasig Parents Association, Inc., Children's Help and Assistance Foundation, Inc., Missionaries of the Poor and Don Bosco Boy's Home, Inc.

Bearing the theme, "One Family" the organizers hope to teach the minds, touch the hearts and transform the lives of the children who are deprived of their rights to have a good family, education and normal life.pio_cctfsc03

 

Moreover, Mayor Rama reiterated that as long as he is still in the government he will always help the abused and misused children in the city. He added that the city would extend help in improving the facilities of the place where the summer camp is held yearly.            (Mayor Rama gives a piece of advice to the participants of the city’s summer camp program.)
