With the theme, "Kalayaan: Pananagutan ng Bayan para sa tuwid na Daan" the Cebu City government sets at least four major activities in one day to celebrate the 114th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2012.

The 1st part will be the Solidarity Run from Capitol Building to Plaza Sugbu at 4am. The 2nd part includes a Eucharistic Celebration fol- lowed by the Ceremonial Flag Raising ceremony which will be done at the Plaza Sugbu at 7:30am.

Part 3 will be the Cultural Civic Military Parade at 1pm and will start at Sacred Heart School in General Maxilom Avenue to the Cebu City Sports Center. Meanwhile, the last part will be the Grand Independence Ball at Waterfront Hotel Lahug at 6:30 in the evening.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama said during the press conference on June 6 at the Mayor's Conference Room that such lined-up activities will savor our beginning, let us treasure our history to remind us how we started.
