Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama took part in the recently concluded "Kita: The Philippines/Indonesia Art Exchange exhibit held last June 8, 2012 at the Montebello Villa Hotel Banilad, this city.

'Kita' has the same meaning in the Philippines and Indonesia which is " We or Us" - that is all about culture of both country. At least 50 artworks were featured in the exhibit with no specific theme so that everyone can bring and share anything.

The idea was developed since 2008 in Kaula Lumpur Malaysia exhibit attended by the organizers of KITA.

The exhibit will last until June 13 in Cebu and in Exhibition Center for Contemporary Art Gallery in Valle Verde, Pasig City on June 16-21, to Gaya Art Space in Bali, Indonesia on June 30-July 7.

There were 10 great artists who showcased their outputs in the said exhi bit, 5 Filipinos that includes Darby Alcoseba, Epifanio Atencia, Adler Llagas, Radel Paredes and Celso Pepito; and 5 Indonesians such as Antonius Kho, Wayan Linggih, Made Somadita, Syahrizal Koto and Ade Artie Tjakra.

Mayor Rama strongly supports the said exhibit as he value the preservation of arts and culture considering that Cebu City has achieved recognition as ASEAN City of Culture.

Truly the activity is a good factor in reactivating culture appreciation thru arts.
