Another Friday means another Barangay will benefit from the free services through the City Hall at Your Doorstep program of Cebu City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama.
The activity last July 13, 2012 started with a Eucharistic celebration led by Rev. Fr. Jesus Macatisbis, OAD and then followed by the formal opening of the City Hall at Your Doorstep. At least hundreds of Talambanons enjoyed the free services provided by the 22 departments of the Cebu City government and its partner agencies such as the Rotary Clubs and Social Security System.
The free services includes Medical and Dental Services by City Health; Birth, Marriage and Death certificates issuance by Civil Registrar; Legal Consultation by City Attorney; Real Property Consultation by City Assessor; Repair and Installation of Street Lights and Artesian Wells by Dept. of Public Services; Cedula issuance by City Treasurer; Seedling distribution by City Agriculture; Pet registration and vaccination by DVMF; Pre-screening on Job Fair Employment referral by DMDP; Drainage and Road Maintenance by DEPW; Traffic issues and Concerns by CITOM; Blood typing, Hematocrit, blood sugar testing, and internal medicine distribution by CCMC; Mass Feeding, parent effectiveness seminar by DSWS; Cutting and trimming of trees by Parks and Playgrounds; Urban Poor Related issues consultation by DWUP; Seminar and orientation of drug related issues by COSAP; Information dissemination by PIO; Police visibility by CCPO; the City Market Office who served as a facilitators and liaisons, and Fire Safety orientation by City Fire Station, among others.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama also dropped by in the area to see to it that everything are okay. He acknowledge the Barangay officials and all who have supported in the initiative. "This is a rare activity that is part of our Vision for Cebu City, that everyone must take advantage, I salute to all for giving us the chance to serve you," Mayor Rama said. Moreover, theMayor was accompanied by his Squadron Force referring to his sister Lela Nunez and their cousins who also showed up in the venue to ensure the smooth flow of the half-day event.
Talamban Brgy. Captain Hon. Jesus Remedio Jr. and his fellow Barangay officials were thankful for the initiative of Mayor Rama. "We are thankful for all the departments comprising the Cebu City government who are here to serve us, this is like eat all you can!," Remedio said in Bisaya in his welcome message. He further added that the activity is of great help to his constituents considering their Barangay is far from the Cebu City Hall.
