Cebu City Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Jessica Resch encouraged the Supreme Student Government (SSG) Leaders of private and public high schools in the city to coordinate with the SK office for their activities and projects.
In an interview during the SSG Leader's Summit, Councilor Resch said that they will be partnering with the SSG for the "Save Karagatan Para sa Kinabukasan," which was launched yesterday. It is a project that offers opportunity to students initiated by the SK Federation in partnership with the Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CCENRO) and Nature’s Spring, who donated “basura boards” for private and public schools.
During the activity, the SKF turned over basura boards to the SSG Presidents, they are targetting to give 1 "basura board" per school. These boards aims to give students an interesting way of gathering their plastic bottles which will then be collected by CCENRO and will be used for making bio-fences.
To recall, the first project of the city government, "Doughnut Bai, " initiated by Mayor Tommy Osmeña, offers opportunity to student leaders to raise funds for their upcoming activities. This program will continue to serve the students even after a new SSG Federation President and officers will be elected.
Resch said that the student leaders could reach out and ask for help from their respective Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Barangay Officials regarding their proposed projects and programs. (Margie P. Bulado, Jessa Celocia & Levy Sayago/PIO)
