CEBU CITY, Philippines - The City Government of Cebu has received at least two Solar cum Windmill Lampposts from a Japanese firm.

Yushin Kougyou Corporation in Japan donated 2 units of Solar Windmill Lampposts to City of Cebu in December last year.

The one unit of the Solar Windmill Lamppost was successfully installed in the Plaza Sugbo near Cebu City Hall in December of 2016.

The other unit was was installed in the Baywalk of the city's South Road Properties which was turned-over by the said Japanese Firm to the Cebu City Government this afternoon May 4, 2017 Thursday.

Engr. Roberto Cabarrubias, head of the city's Department of Public Services (DPS) together with the representatives from the Yushin Kougyou Corporation led the ceremonial turn-over.

“There are two sources of energy, one is the heat of the sun and another one is wind that will recharge the 2 batteries which will provide power and light during night time to the lampposts,” Cabarrubias enthuses.

The activity was witnessed by the Members of the Media, some Cebu City Government employees and the people mostly couple dating in the Baywalk also known as the Lover's Lane of SRP. (By: Greggy P. Senados/ City of Cebu, Public Information Office)
