CEBU CITY, Philippines – A simple yet meaningful celebration was held Thursday morning November 30 at the city’s historical Plaza Independencia remembering Gat Andres Bonifacio’s 154th Birth anniversary.

Cebu City vice mayor Egardo Labella together with councillor Margarita “Margot” Osmeña led the Floral Offering to the monument of Gat Andres Bonifacio located inside the Plaza Independencia.

The vice mayor who is also the chairman of the Cebu City Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission (CHAC) reiterated the bravery and heroism of Gat Andres Bonifacio who was known as the "Father of the Philippine Revolution" and led the revolution against the Spanish colonizers, citing that everyone should emulate in fighting the odds and evils in society in today’s generation.

Also in attendance were city councilor's Pastor Alcover, Joel Garganera and Eugenio Gabuya Jr.

Thousands of Cebuanos flocked to the Plaza Independencia offering prayers and flowers to the Supremo of KKK or the “Kataastaasan Kagalang-galang na Katipunan nang nga Anak ng Bayan” or simply known as “Katipunan”.

Aside from the Cebu City’s elected officials and department heads, the historical activity was also well attended by various representatives from the different sectors, government and non-governmental organizations, institutions and agencies, the local media and the general public, among others.
