The Cebu City Government is now accepting online payments for Real Property Tax (RPT).
Aside from the online payment for business taxes which was launched last January, the
Management Information and Computer Services (MICS) developed another program that would give Real Property Tax payers a more convenient way of paying their taxes online by simply logging in to the cebucity.gov.ph website through their computers or mobile devices.
Before using the payment option, one must register their tax declaration first, new online accounts form are available at the City Treasurer's Office or online. The forms should be printed and signed for CTO registration processing.
MICS Head Engineer William Cris Artajo said that this new payment option can save taxpayers more time and effort now that they can pay for their taxes at their convenience and then claim their Official Receipts at the CTO afterwards. Artajo clarified that the system can only accommodate tax declaration with current payments. Delinquent accounts still have to go to Cebu City Hall to be assessed by the CTO for their penalties.
MICS Programmer Raymond Chiu said that a personnel from the CTO will generate a payment slip to be paid by the taxpayer. Those who will request for their payment slips online after business hours will have their payment slips generated during the next business hour. (Jessa L. Celocia & Levy Sayago/PIO)
