The MCWD is seeking the approval of Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama for the lease of some 3,000 square meters of lot at the North Reclamation Area to become the site of the proposed Septage Treatment Plant.
MCWD is working on the establishment of a Septage Management Program in Metro Cebu where Cebu City is identified as one of the site for the three STPs to be constructed.
MCWD would like their engineers to conduct a site-inspection and survey on the initially identified area soon in coordination with the City Planning and Development Office and together with a third party appraiser for the determination of the lease price.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and the rest of the members of the Banilad-Talamban Traffic Task Force appealed to the Secretary of DPWH to abort the planned construction of two more flyovers in Cebu City that they believe should not be the priority.
The task force sent a resolution to DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson last month asking the department to reconsider the plan and instead look for alternative solutions to the worsening traffic in the city.
City Traffic Operations Management Board Chair Sylvan Jakosalem said they want DPWH to prioritize first the widening of the Ban-Tal road which they believe must be given weight more than adding two flyovers.
