A total of 20 manual sewing machines with attached motor intended for hi speed, were recently turned over to the Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP) headed by Fidel Magno.
The donation is part of a joint project dubbed as “Sewing, A Viable Economic Diversification” (S.A.V.E.D.) by the Rotary Club of Mandaue East District 1860 and their counterpart Japanese members from the Hainan District 2620 in Japan.
Members of the Livelihood Program of Barangay Cogon Ramos & Poblacion Pardo are the beneficiaries of the said donation.
Magno said DMDP has been conducting skills training in the different barangays in the city, especially to mothers and out of school youths who are unemployed. This way, they will have the chance to earn for themselves and provide for their families. (Farlash Acenas with photos from DMDP)
