The song “CCMC, We Love and We Care,” composed by Dionessa Yase, arranged by Edito Villarin, Jr. and interpreted by Ms. Katrina Q. Morizolin emerged as the champion (Best Composition) in this year’s CCMC Hymn Composition Contest held at the Social Hall, Legislative Bldg., Cebu City Hall today.
Six representatives from the different departments and/or allied departments from the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) vied for the most coveted grand prize award of P5, 000 pesos in cash.
The group representing the Administrative Office composed of interpreters Peter Cawayan, Jomari Osmeña, Engr. Marlon Jed Carillo and Janssen Saludes who is also the composer with Rev. Roderich Teriote arranging the song entitled “CCMC Champion of the Masses,” emerged as the Best Interpreter.
The College of Nursing was represented by Edwin Serenio who also composed, arranged and interpreted the song .
The Ancillary Department’s bet Ms. Antonette Cuandot interpreted the song “I Thank you CCMC” while Ms. Felp Mary Arcilla represented the Guba Emergency Hospital together with Composer Joy T. Arcilla and Arranger Michelle Gulfen followed by the Medical Department with interpreter Rowel Argallon, composed and arranged by Jandel Bacalso.
CCMC employees from the different departments also attended the activity headed by Hospital Administrator Kenneth Siasar and Medical Director Dr. Anton Reposar.
Criteria for judging includes musicality 40%; lyrics and content, 30%; originality and creativity, 20% and commercial appeal/impact, 10% with guests judges Ms. Rhodamine Chan, Mr. Niño James Bañares and Prof. Roberto Del Rosario.
Awarding of winners will be held during the CCMC’s Christmas Party at the Sky Hall of SM Seaside on December 10, 2018. (Farlash Acenas/PIO)
