Despite the heavy rains, Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) Staff and employees as well as visitors and patients gathered to welcome the arrival of the Image of Sr. Santo Niño for a one night vigil at the hospital.
Dancing to the beat of the Sinulog, the devotees were ecstatic to welcome Sr. Sto. Niño to the hospital who was immediately brought to the St. Florian Chapel for the holy mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Luigi Kent Martinez.
Sinulog Executive Committee Chair Hon. Dave Tumulak, in an interview with PIO disclosed that this is to give our patients and their families a chance to be closer to Sr. Sto. Niño and pray for physical and spiritual healing.
He also added that this is also a symbol of the cultural and spiritual aspect of the city’s devotion to Sr. Sto. Niño which is the true meaning of the Sinulog festivities.
CCMC is the first stop of the image which will stay overnight, then at 12:30 pm tomorrow, this will be brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC). (Farlash Acenas, Helen Herrera & Tito Basilisco/PIO)
