The Cebu City Safe Public Space Advocacy was launched during the opening of the 2019 National Women's Month Celebration at Plaza Independencia recently.
Cebu City Anti-Discrimination Commission (CCADC) officer in-charge Magdalena Robinson, introduced "Bawal Bastos" Advocacy or Safe Public Space Advocacy for the protection of all the women in the city.
This advocacy was pushed through the collaboration of former Councilor Alvin Dizon- Convener of the Safe Public Space Advocacy, Cebu City Anti-Discrimination Commission (CCADC), and Cebu City Women's Group.
"Bawal Bastos" aims to raise public awareness, increase the number of anti-discrimination advocates, and promote safe public spaces for women and girls.
Robinson said during the launching that they will bring the advocacy to the council to pass an ordinance that will prevent any forms of discrimination and protect the rights of everyone.
