The Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CCENRO) in coordination with the volunteers from Greenpeace Philippines held a brand sorting during the Lahug River Clean-up recently.
Five sacks of garbage from each of the 5 stations during the clean-up were categorized manually by the
Greenpeace Philippines to identify which brands of trash were common in the river of Lahug.
CCENRO Head Nida Cabrera confirmed that the city had collected 10 tons of garbage in Station 1 alone, located at Upper La Guerta, during the river clean-up.
There were 1,000 individuals who signed-up to volunteer for the clean-up excluding the Cebu City Hall employees and staffs. (Margie P. Bulado & Levy Sayag/PIO)
