The Cebu City Government through the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) in coordination with the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre awarded 10 Outstanding Traffic Enforcers in Cebu City in simple ceremony last night at the Cebu City Social Hall.
The ten chosen Traffic Enforcers bested hundreds of others and were later trimmed down to 20, based on their performance in apprehending violators, politeness and their attitude in dealing with violators and for having a perfect attendance in their line of duty.
Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña, in his message to the awardees said that “You are not just an inspiration to others, but you are also an inspiration to me.” He also encouraged them to continue to do well in their chosen field.
Those who were awarded include Bonifacio Asentista, Reynaldo Cajes, Nacario Emnace, Renato Generoso, Jonathan Itang, Mynard Manatad, Eldridge Roy Rosel, Metodio Torillo, Rey-an Marie Torion and Lowell Yguinto. Each will receive P10,000 each and a life insurance.
From the 20, ten were awarded as Outstanding Traffic Enforcers while the remaining 10 were given a consolation prize of P2,000 each but the Mayor decided to add P2,000 more for each of them. (Farlash Acenas, Margie P. Bulado & Tito Basilisco/PIO)
