Acting Mambaling Barangay Captain Anne Palomo expressed her gratitude to the Cebu City Government and to Mayor Tomas Osmeña for the 22.7 million Road Concreting and Drainage System project for the constituents in Alaska, Mambaling.
The project had its groundbreaking ceremony today and was attended by Mayor Osmeña together with City Councilors Dave Tumulak and Eugenio Gabuya, Jr.
Palomo said that the residents are all very happy and excited upon knowing about the project. The road concreting and drainage system will be a big help to the barangay residents especially that this is a flood prone area and the asphalt used for the roads gets easily washed out. But once the roads are already concreted, even if there will be a downpour of rain, it will not be causing that much of an inconvenience since it is already concreted and much stable.
The acting barangay captain urged the residents to extend more patience once the construction starts, and assured them that there will be a contingency plan, opening other exit routes to assist those living in the area. (Jessa L. Celocia & Levy Sayago/PIO)
