“Ang akong obligasyon dili para kanako, para sa kaayohan sa atong mga lumulopyo, kay ako amahan, amahan sa tanan,” Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña said during the Vendors General Assembly held early today at the San Nicolas gym.
Thousands of vendors from the different vendor organizations attended the activity spearheaded by the Office of the City Markets led by Market Administrator Atty. Winifredo Orcullo, Jr. in cooperation with the Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) headed by DENR Education Dept. Head Cindy Pepito who explained to the participants the importance of sanitation and cleanliness in every vendor’s area to ensure the safety of the consumers.
Deputy Mayor for Health Mary Ann delos Santos, for her part, informed the participants that five months from now, the first, second and third floors of the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) will finally be operational. Aside from this, various services is also being offered for free like operation for appendicitis, gall bladder, cyst, hernia, among others.
Deputy Mayor for City Markets Atty. Alvin Arcilla also attended the activity and assured them that the Cebu City Government is doing its best to assist them with their needs. (Farlash Acenas & Tito Basilisco/PIO)
