Department of General Services

INTRODUCTION

The Department of General Services was viewed as an indispensable arm in carrying out the purpose of the City Government. Its creation was evident in providing expertise in technical assistance and support to the City Mayor in the implementation of measures to ensure the delivery of basic services and adequate facilities.The Department of General Services has been tasked in developing general services plans and strategies and implements the same upon the approval of the City Mayor

             To have well-informed and participative barangays and communities.

 

LEGAL MANDATE

Pursuant to the Constitutional provision on local autonomy and as mandated by RA 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Cebu passed Ordinance No. 1532 “An Ordinance Creating the General Services Office Headed by the General Services Officer in the City of Cebu”  through SP Resolution No. 386 dated August 22, 1994.
